How much could failed payments cost you?
$20k monthly revenue
An example, not a forecast. It assumes 5% of monthly revenue fails and 50% of that is won back, and it doesn't subtract what Stripe's own retries already recover. For your own rates, use the failed payment calculator.
- Lost to failed payments
- $12,000/yr
- $1,000 every month
- Won back at 50%
- $6,000/yr
- $500 every month
- Return on $29 a month
- 17×
- what it costs, every month
At these example rates, about $12,000 a year goes to failed payments.
Get startedHow Dunity compares
Stripe already retries failed payments. Here's what Dunity adds, and what the alternatives cost.
Compare Dunity with
| Feature | Stripe on its own | Enterprise retention suites | Build it yourself | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Flat, public price | $29/mo | 0.7% of billing | $250/mo+ or a quote | Engineer time |

A cross means not built in. “Stripe on its own” is Stripe Billing's recovery tools, which you already pay for at 0.7% of billing; Dunity works alongside them. Enterprise figures are from a leading retention suite's published pricing, September 2026.

How much does Dunity cost?
$29 a month, or $299 a year if you pay annually, which saves you $49. One plan includes everything: retries timed to each decline reason, customer emails, card-expiry reminders, the payment wall, win-back offers, VIP exclusions and Slack alerts. Some dunning tools take a percentage of the revenue they recover or move you up a tier as your MRR grows. Dunity does neither, and there's no setup fee. Each subscription covers one connected Stripe account.
Is there a free trial?
There isn't a free trial. You're billed monthly and can cancel whenever you like, so trying Dunity costs one month at most. If it recovers a single failed $29 payment in that month, it has paid for itself.
How is Dunity different from Stripe's Smart Retries?
Stripe Billing already retries failed payments and can email your customers, and Dunity doesn't replace any of that. It runs alongside Stripe and adds what Stripe's recovery tools leave out: retries timed to the decline reason (an insufficient-funds decline waits longer before the next attempt), a payment wall that asks customers to update their card inside your app, discount offers to win back payments that keep failing, a way to keep VIP customers out of retries, and Slack alerts.
Which payment processors and currencies does Dunity support?
Stripe only, for subscriptions billed through Stripe Billing, in whatever currencies you bill in. Each amount is shown in the currency its invoice was billed in. If you bill through Chargebee, Paddle, Braintree or Recurly, Dunity won't work for you today. Your own Dunity subscription is billed in US dollars.
How long does setup take, and do I need a developer?
A few minutes, with no code. You create a restricted API key in Stripe and paste it into Dunity, and Dunity registers the webhook it needs for you. The one exception is the optional payment wall, which is a short script tag a developer adds to your app.
Is it safe to connect my Stripe account?
Dunity asks for a restricted Stripe key limited to the permissions it needs, never your full secret key. The key is encrypted at rest and never sent back to the browser. Your customers' card numbers never reach Dunity, because Stripe doesn't include them in the events it sends. Disconnecting deletes the key right away.
Can I cancel anytime? Do you offer refunds?
Yes, you can cancel at any time from Manage billing in Settings, and you won't be charged again. The current billing period isn't refunded. Retries, customer emails and card-expiry reminders keep running for 5 days after your subscription ends, so payments already in progress aren't dropped.
